NY MILTON — The Zoning Board rejected a variance request for a detached garage with accessory dwelling unit at 64 East Grove St, voting 3-1 against the proposal. Chairman Patrick Terhune supported it; board members Mr. Quillan, Mr.
Smassanow, and Ms. Stevens opposed it, citing neighborhood character and public opposition. The applicant must substantially reconfigure and reapply within two weeks.
Separately, the board scheduled a public hearing on October 22 at 7 p.m. for Jessica Sofen's variance request for relief from rear-yard setback requirements for a 1,100-square-foot addition at 8 Milton Heights Blvd, unanimously clearing it as a Type 2 environmental action.
